UPDATE: New in November

Keep reading to learn about some fresh format changes in the regular episodes of QUIZ PRISON and meet the newest Solitary Sixty challengers!

November sees the conclusion of Inmate L-02's ordeal at the Solitary Sixty jail!

A brilliant inmate who just won't stop talking, if you've seen his challenge hour then don't expect him to be any less chatty during his punishment...

Streaming for all video members from Wednesday 6th November, 🔴ULTIMATE members can view it right now with early access.

Following that begins the regular QUIZ PRISON episodes...

Inmate L-02's challenge was very much a pilot. That is, a great chance to try out the idea.

Moving forward, the challenge has been slightly revised to make an even more tense challenge... and so has the arrest / jail aspect of this particular series.

It's already been touched on in this post, but from now on challengers brave enough to take on QUIZ PRISON aren't immediately arrested as they would be if they were taking on JAILBREAK or DOING TIME.

We now know the challengers' names and they can wear their own clothing into the cell for the challenge.

But don't panic, we haven't gone soft! They are still very much imprisoned inside the cell for their challenge - after handing in their mobile phone, of course... No cheating in the quiz!

As with JAILBREAK, the aim is to escape before the guard returns 60 minutes later.

If the challenger is still stuck in the cell, the guard locks them in.

Then they are immediately placed under arrest. More is now shown of the arrest, with them being handcuffed via the cuff port in the door. Then they must turn to face the back of the cell and put their hands on their head. The guard then opens the door and secures the inmate further with leg irons. The new inmate will then have their mugshot photos taken, before being issued with their prisoner uniform.

For those facing punishment, the second hour (seen by viewers the following week, as usual) has changed very little. The inmate is now known by their inmate number rather than name, and they appear in handcuffs and leg irons from the start. Their punishment hour will be made uncomfortable and frustrating in some way, just as it has been since the start of Solitary Sixty! The only minor difference is that the inmates now wear the orange jumpsuit for their punishment, for maximum humiliation.

Why the change?

The short answer is to keep things fresh. So rather than use the exact same routine for all challenge formats, some differences will help to make each format more distinct.

Some of you have said it would be good to see the challengers in the cell in their own clothes - so this seems the ideal way to do it!

Having now filmed 4 regular episodes of QUIZ PRISON, I have also observed that it changes the challengers' attitude...

When the challengers are arrested immediately (as with JAILBREAK and DOING TIME), they can be nervous to start with, but by the end of the challenge they have relaxed and losing may almost feel inevitable (especially with JAILBREAK!).

With QUIZ PRISON, the chance of escape feels within grasp for the whole time and as the remaining minutes turn to seconds before the guard returns, panic can set in. The challengers want to avoid the humiliation of failure and being arrested, since they have yet to experience it. They want to avoid the shame of being made to wear the orange prisoner uniform and of being locked in the cell as a full-on prisoner.

Trust me - it makes for an exciting watch!

Later this month, Tristan becomes our first named challenger, followed by Ollie.

Were the mugshots above taken when they failed their challenges and were arrested?

Or are they just sneaky red herrings to confuse you and we've had our first escapee?
