Read on to learn about changes to how to view videos on the website, plus some exciting updates about Solitary Sixty in general!
It's been a while since I wrote a general update about Solitary Sixty (besides the usual monthly content updates - here's the one for July, if you missed it). Now seems a good time to change that!
The main headline is a fully redesigned page for accessing video content.
With an ever-growing library of content, it was necessary to simplify things.
Gone are separate pages with multiple video players for the different member tiers and another with all the content laid out in a massive grid (or a long, long list on mobile!).
Now, both the content available on each tier has been simplified, and a single "Video Hub" has been created.
The content availability on 🟡LITE, 🟠STANDARD and 🔴ULTIMATE was covered in great depth in this separate post, but the key structure now is:
🟡LITE gives rolling access to all content released this week, refreshed every Wednesday
🟠STANDARD adds in access to all content released in the last 12 months in the "Standard Selection"
🔴ULTIMATE remains as the place to view access to all content! It adds exclusive access to both the "Ultimate Archive" (that's content over 12 months old) and "Early Access" (to see next week's content in full before anybody else!)
This week's "Latest Content" sits proudly at the top of the video hub, accessible for all video members.
The "Standard Selection" and "Ultimate Archive" are now scrolling thumbnails which take you directly to the dedicated content page.
"Early Access" is now on its own dedicated page, with a link in both the WATCH menu and also on the Video Hub page. Early Access content won't now appear on the individual content pages - only on the Early Access page.
Finally, the "Coming Soon" section remains, giving you a glimpse at the content to be released over the next few weeks.
That is joined by a "Leaving Soon" section, highlighting the next content to be moved from the "Standard Selection" into the "Ultimate Archive".
If you're ever in doubt where to access content - just go to the VIDEO HUB!
And if you spot anything that doesn't behave as it should, links to the wrong place (or nowhere at all) or you have any other questions or comments... Please get in touch! There will be mistakes - overhauling the website continues to be a big job... Thanks :)
Great things are coming to Solitary Sixty in the coming weeks and months...
In July, the two newest formats - UNCHAINED and THE SELECTOR make their debut.
Both formats have quick challenges and instant punishments, if things don't go our players' way! Read more about them in the July content update.
You may also notice some improvements in video and sound quality.
We've invested in some new cameras and microphones. The first to feature them will be the two debut episodes just mentioned: UNCHAINED and THE SELECTOR
Keep in mind that content is not released in the order that it was filmed, so it will be a while until every video uses the new equipment.
Focus will be shifting towards video content production - so fewer opportunities for Visitor Experiences will exist.
The Experiences are not ending, but calendar dates will fill up quicker. I will probably have time for a maximum of three or four each month, meaning that calendar dates will be removed far quicker than has been the case up until now. For instance, if somebody books on a Wednesday, the availability for the Monday to Friday period would likely then be removed. Please keep this in mind if you're planning to visit for your own sentence!
With more time to be devoted to creating video content, expect even more new and exciting videos soon.
In July, two new experiemntal formats will be filmed for the first time. Very different to everything so far, they keep the essence of Solitary Sixty but add a new twist...
