After 6 months of planning and preparation, of fundraising from some amazing Kickstarter backers, and of plenty of blood, sweat and tears (ok, just sweat mainly - from getting the cell in place)... Finally it's time to launch SOLITARY SIXTY!
What is Solitary Sixty?
If you're reading this, it's likely you'll already have some idea, but for those who may not know...
Solitary Sixty is centred around participants being locked in our very secure, welded steel solitary confinement prison cell for - yep, you guessed it - 60 minutes at a time. There's more info here.
There are 2 main strands to Solitary Sixty as a project: WATCH and EXPERIENCE.
WATCH Solitary Sixty
Video content showing challengers from the world of modelling, sport, performing and social media all hoping to escape the cell when they play JAILBREAK (with other formats to follow later in the year).
If they can't escape within the 60 minutes, they're punished by having their sentence doubled! Yes, they get another hour of imprisonment, this time with no chance of escape.
Having already filmed with 4 inmates, I can say it's surprising how addictive watching a prisoner languishing hopelessly in the cell for an can be! It's a fascinating psychological experiment.
The videos are all long-form, showing the 60 minutes of both challenge and punishment in full, from multiple cameras, as if watching a bank of CCTV screens.

EXPERIENCE Solitary Sixty
The other side to the operation is offering visitor experiences to anyone aged 18 and over, so that YOU can visit the cell yourself and become an inmate!
Will you try to escape? Or just endure your sentence to experience the sensation of real imprisonment?
The jail cell is ideally located in Birmingham city centre, and again there are different tiers on offer from those who just want to experience being locked up for an hour to those who want to double up their experience by facing two hours inside and want the whole sentence recorded and produced just like our WATCH content!
